When you call us, a licensed HVAC technician comes to your home, inspects the full system, and runs the necessary tests to isolate the problem. We give you a written quote before any repair starts. If the diagnosis reveals a condition that is better solved by replacement, we tell you that too — with honest numbers for both options so you can decide with confidence.
All repairs use manufacturer-approved components. Refrigerant work is performed by HVAC technicians certified to handle refrigerant under Canadian regulations.
When to call for AC repair
Call for service if your air conditioner is blowing warm or weak air, making unusual noises, leaking water, icing up, tripping the breaker, or simply not turning on. Do not continue to run a system that is cycling on and off rapidly, as short-cycling puts the compressor at risk of early failure.
Never attempt to open the AC unit, handle refrigerant, touch capacitors (which store a lethal charge even when unplugged), or bypass any safety switch. These tasks require licensed technicians and proper equipment.

How do I know if my air conditioner needs repair?

If you notice any of these, book a diagnostic inspection rather than running the unit until it fails completely.
What causes an air conditioner to stop cooling?
The most frequent causes are low refrigerant charge (often from a leak), a dirty evaporator or condenser coil, a failed capacitor or compressor, a clogged air filter, or a thermostat issue. A licensed technician can pinpoint the exact cause and give you a repair estimate before any work begins.
Is it worth repairing an older air conditioner?
If the unit is under 10 years old and the repair cost is less than half the price of a new system, repair is usually the right choice. How long does an AC repair take?
Most standard repairs — capacitor replacement, refrigerant top-up, coil cleaning, electrical fixes — are completed in a single visit of 1–3 hours. More complex repairs involving the compressor or refrigerant line may require parts to be ordered, which can add a day or two.
Can I add refrigerant to my air conditioner myself?
No. In Canada, refrigerant handling is restricted to certified HVAC technicians. Refrigerant is under high pressure and handling it without proper training and equipment is dangerous. More importantly, adding refrigerant without finding and fixing the underlying leak is only a temporary fix. Always call a licensed technician.
