On variable-speed inverter outdoor units the code is generated by the VSODU (Variable Speed Outdoor Unit Control board) and uses the form A###_O or T###_O, where the trailing _O = Outdoor; A-prefix codes are typically active/locked-out alarms and T-prefix codes are transient/temporary faults (some also show a short numeric code such as '31' on the VSODU display).
